1. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from, how old are you, what's your name etc?

I'm french (many people had to realizing it saw my "franglais"), born a stone's throw from Paris.
I have 33 years old (soon 34) and my family name is Lucas, like George, except that my first name is Christophe and my bank account is less abundant :)
I'm an atari ST user heart but i like other machines (computers and consoles) too.


2. What is your current hardware line up?

A laptop 17 inches PIV 3GHZ with 1GB RAM and a Falcon30-CT60 100MHz 256Mo-14Mo HD40Go.


3. When did you get your first ST?

1988, a 520 STF 360k floppy drive. I have known compatibility problems with the double-sided disks ;)
Even after the purchase an external floppy drive that did not solve all problems...
It was a marvellous memories but also bad marks at school because of it :)


4. Were you alone, stranded in a PC/Amiga universe?

Not alone, i played often with my twin (Templeton of CVSD) and with a very good friend who had also a ST; we loved to compete at Kick off :)
I also played with companions who had Amiga, but they are few many, the ST in France was far ahead.
The PC, hum, i had rarely touch during this era, few gamers did have it; it not a surprise at that time, the PC was a bad machine for play and expensive ;)

5. What was the first ST game you played?

Maybe Enduro Racer or Barbarian of Psygnosis at friend, in seeing it, i decided with my brother to convince our parents to buy a 16-32 computer.
What radical change in comparison to 8 bits and Thomson (MO5/TO7) which employed at school :)
But my first 16-32bits computer could have been an Amiga500 if the seller had not sold at other customer...
Note that the first time i saw a ST game, it was in one of the oldest computer magazine in history, TILT; his first Numero was released in 1982!

6. Where did you get your games from in the early days?

I had several games with the ST, after mainly copies between friends, we called it the meetings toaster at weekends :)


7. What else did you use your ST for?

Games, games and games :)
Oh i forgot, i fascinate myself watching demos, we don't repent have chosen this computer thanks to demomakers !
On the other hand with the Falcon (purchased in 1993, TOS 4.01), mostly applications and demos was my routine.


8. Why do you participate in STOT? What's the motivation?

I like the competition, i have free time (for the moment) and it was a good way to remind me of the good time spent on these old games.
I admit during the grand era of ST that i participated also competitions at several computer expo where i won some prizes such as... ST games :)


9. Are you happy with the games selected so far?

yes, it was often good games and i have very eclectic tastes.
Anyway i can even enjoy a bad game!
Either my intention will be finish the game out of curiosity or simply because a competitor is ahead me :)


10. What else are you interested in seeing in and/or from STOT?

More players !
And the STOT website completed :)


11. Let's imagine you are lost in an island, you, an ST with monitor, a solar power generator and 5 games.
Which ones would they be?

Archipelagos? No, i'm joking.
Teenage Queen for have pleasant company !
No, i'm joking again :)

In fact it's a cruel question because there are so many excellent games !

.Player Manager (by Dino Dini), the games are always differents and i can give me handicaps !

.Chaos Strike Back during the night, create challenges (finish with one person, use only first level of magic, etc...) to avoid weary; and because it more difficult than Dungeon Master :)

.Civizilaton for give me an ideas on my new daily and more seriously because it's an excellent game, good life and because i've never played!

.Frontier Elite II because i've never played too !

.Vroom Multi Player, rapid, nervous and you can always improve his time.

In sum games that have a long life and to which i risk less bored too quickly ;)
All of which wait before finishing the construction of a boat to fetch a receiver dish :)


12. What is your favourite game genre?

Honestly i don't know !
I like almost everything, only too sophisticated simulations as Flight Simulator can bore me.


13. What is your favourite modern game?

I play much less today (+-5 games per year) but i hesitate between FPS / Action and RTS.
The last 2 games to which i have played are Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars on the dual core's brother and Gears of War on Xbox360.


14. Emulators or real hardware?

The two !
Emulator when i'm very lazy or to test quickly various things.
The ST or Falcon for compatibility problems, have a natural looking as the old time (via a SC1435 or cathodic TV), have the real DPI Atari Mouse (!) and touch a real joystick !
In fact each 2 solutions have their strengths.


15. Something else you would like to say?

Foremost to congratulate you for organizing STOT, any initiative that revolves around the Atari rejoices me :)
To say besides that i'm sorry for the fall of the participants because i think i may own responsability; i may have discouraged some players...
And finally i wish long life to STOT!
